patterns that would travel

performers establish for themselves:

a listening pattern
a simple shape or path, somehow surveying an area or proximity through listening.
it can be transposed to different places or applied to different times (past, present or future).

a way to alter the listening space
consider the acoustics of your listening pattern.  be able to change these acoustics.  if making more than one change, have it be modular: single, but displaced or responsive when repeated.

a trigger for the alteration
"I will alter the listening space if..."

for an unidentified ensemble
only if moved to make an alteration do they become known as performers, even to each other.
